PHRASAL VERBS

There are two types of phrasal verbs:

·         TRANSITIVE VERBS: they take an object.
Example: I put on my jacket

There are two kinds of transitive phrasal verbs:
1. Separable phrasal verbs: the object can separate the phrasal verb or come after it. (Throw the ball away, or throw away the ball). However, if the object is a pronoun (it, them, etc.), it must separate the phrasal verb (I throw it away)

2. Non-separable phrasal verbs: the object always comes after the phrasal verb (could you deal with the problem? Could you deal with it?)
·         INTRANSITIVE: they don’t take any object.
       Example: I won’t come back.

After you have read this information, go to this link and have some practice.
